Vintage Bowie Hunting Knife Lucite Bakelite 40s Case NR . NO RESERVE! Rare and HTF. SEE PHOTOS! This knife comes from my grandfather's toy and hobby store stock. My grandparent's had toy and hobby stores for 50 years from 1946-1996 which sold knives too. This knife is used but it has been stored for decades. I think this knife is from the 50's? Maybe 40s? My grandfather had some other Kinfolks, Solingen, Boker Tree Brand, Old Timers, de Lashmutts, Western, Imperial, SCHRADE WALDEN, Queen, ULSTER, Case, Bowie, etc. from the same time. You probably know the date and maker better than me. The knife blade is in ok shape. Unmarked now. I think it was stored in a leather sheath for decades. It looks to me like someone didn't know how to sharpen or polish the blade? I tried to show that in the photos. It is sold as is. You can't see the markings because of the sharpening at the base of the master blade on either side. It needs work. I'll leave the cleaning up to you. The handle is complete and beautiful! No loose parts. It seems like it is lucite with bakelite spacers? Not sure though. Could be some kind of plastic. T are a couple of grinds in the metal part of the handle. The blade is thick. SEE PHOTOS. The knife is heavy. It weighs almost a 1/2 pound! This Hunting knife is in nice condition. The knife is 9 in. long. The handle: 4", the blade: 5". T is also a leather sheath included.
