This old fixture was just taken down from a home built in the early part of the 20 th century. It was one of the original fixtures. (actually still has its original wiring which needs redoing). It has significant size for this type of electric fixture & a beautiful original patina. It hangs as shown @ 40" (Of course this could be modified by +/- links of the chain). The metal of this old fixture is all brass except for the chain which is steel with its original brass finish.) and about 22" across @ its greatest width. The fixture is in really excellent condition. The castings and highlighted original gilt finish on the 5 arms is done exceptionally well! The 2 extremely trivial, of really no consequence things I noticed was a little depression in the finial, (which is hardly noticable and could easily be replaced if found objectionable) and one extremely minor depression on on of the bell shaped 2 14" fitter shade holders. This could easily be remedied when fixture is wired. The 5 ORIGINAL GLASS SHADES ARE EACH MARKED/ EMBOSSED NEAR THE FITTER AREA: GILLINDER PAT NOV 7, 1911. All 5 shades are in excellent condition! This fixture would be absolutely perfect for an early 20th century restoration project. The original patina is really great. It could be cleaned a bit & then left as original or the brass would polish to a brilliant lustre. This will be a 2 box shipment. Questions are welcomed.
