you are bidding on a very fine Vintage Coal Minors Lantern...This is a Solid Brass Coal (?) Minors Lantern - labeled "Protector lamp & Lighting Co. Ltd." type GR 6 M & Q Safety Lantern Approval No. B2/233 Makers ECCLESThe lantern weighs 4 lbs, Measures 10" tall and 3&1/2" wide - most of the material is Brass with a Polished Stainless Steel Shield above the thick Glass Flame Holder.also on the Lantern is the stamped letters = 68/9 + S Pat. No. 1048136 - the glass has red letters on it but I can't read them, sorry.This is a very fine, well built and damage free unit. It does not look fake to me as there is so much detail and well built parts, however I am NOT able to guaranty its authentic.IF ANYONE CAN HELP I.D. THIS ITEM I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. Otherwise I am selling it "AS IS" I seriously doubt anyone buying this item will actually use it weather or not it is an actual Minors Lantern. I have seen several of these items in Flee markets, swap meets, garage sales BUT Never one this nice. The weight alone leads me to believe its real.S & H IN THE USA IS $15.00 AND I GLADLY SHIP WORLDWIDE...
