Britains Pre-War Set No. 1837, Argentine Infantry, Service Dress, slope arms, Original Box . Eight figure matched set, steel helmets, officer marching empty handed. Original Box. Produced briefly circa 1939. First of the South American regiments offered in steel helmets. Britains simply used the new casting for the Dutch and Poles, applying the proper uniform color. Figures excellent for paint; all bayonets and shoulder loops intact. Paint original under blacklight and also compatible when blacklighted against other rare sets from this period of pre-war production. Box rated only good due to scuffing and repair (some water damage) to corner with set end label. Top and tray match but tray shows evidence of the pre-war style staples. Cannot confirm this is the exact box these figures were in when they left the factory.. From the Sam Floca collection. Provenance. I believe all elements of the box are genuine but I cannot confirm these are the exact components which left the factory due to the staple holes in tray which would indicate original set came on tie card.
