Vintage British 1882 Sterling Silver Bangle Description... This is a vintage, British, sterling silver, beaded, ornately decorated (five bands of intricate beading) on one half (plain on the other) bangle, bracelet. There is a clasp like enclosure. Condition... The bracelet has a strong clasp that stays firmly closed and is in very nice condition (see photos). Marked... the touch mark on both sideds of the clasp reads B. H. J (see note below) ; the touch marks on one portion (plain half) passant lion and a date mark t (1882); the touch marks on the other side (ornate half) read passant lion, Chester shield and an indiscernable mark that given the date stamp is likely a monarch. Weight... 35 grams Measurement... 1 inch width possible maker... B.H. Joseph & Co, 1865-1929. Incorporated into Payton, Pepper & Co Ltd in 1929. The business of manufacturing and wholesale jewellers was commenced by Barnet Henry Joseph and his brother Henry Joseph in 1865 in Birmingham. When Henry retired (1869) was succeeded by another brother Joseph Joseph. From 1878 B.H.
