~ Vintage Mid-Century Modern ~ ~ Buenilum Micarta Wood Grain 14" Round Cocktail Bar Tray ~ ~ With Original Buenilum Label on the Back with information and care instructions~ A Simple Elegant piece that is over 50 year old that will be a great addition to any bar ware collection. It is in Excellent Vintage Used Condition, No cracks, breaks, or corrosion. It does have wear and scratches from use and age. It still has the Original Buenilum Label on the back with information and care instructions. The rim is Buenilum aluminum with beaded detail on the edge with the Micarta in the center. "Micarta" is a thick Westinghouse Formica product that is Not harmed by Alcohol or household Alkalies Measures: 14" in Diameter ~ History of Buenilum Aluminum ~ The Buenilum Aluminum company was founded as Buehner-Wanner by metalsmith and industrial designer Frederick Buehner and his business partner, Franz Wanner, in Norwalk, Conn. in 1944. Buehner emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1929. He developed a unique formula for using hammered aluminum, which he trademarked in 1933 as Buenilum, a cross between Buehner and aluminum. The Buehner-Wanner company produced Buenilum pieces throughout the 1930s, '40s, '50s and '60s, making mid-century modern decorative, kitchenware and food service items such as serving trays, lazy Susans, relish dishes, read more
