Beautiful older metal lamp with a ribbed Bakelite or Catalin Butterscotch surround on the column. The base is a copper colored metal (magnet does not stick to it) that is designed to look like a tufted pillow. On top of the butterscotch Bakelite is applied metal design of nuts or fruit, not sure which. Three screws at top to hold either a glass globe shade, or perhaps it took a glass diffuser and then a shade. Very nice, and in good condition overall. Lamp stands about 17.5" tall, the base is 7.5" across and the ribbed section is about 10" around and 7" high. Please note: Color of Bakelite is a deep butterscotch, not yellowish as it appears in some of the pictures below. Condition: Appearance is Very good . Lamp Appears to have been rewired at some point since cord looks newer and is in good condition. The plastic plug has a chip out of corner. I would recommend rewiring to be safe. No cracks to Bakelite/Catalin on the column. One tiny light spot on it which I've pictured below. Age appropriate wear to metal, no major problems. Light surface rust inside of metal area w ceramic socket is. The switch is three way, and it is a bit tired, I had to jiggle it upward for it to work. The ceramic socket in lamp takes an oversized lightbulb. You can buy adapter to make it take regular size or buy large socket bulbs at lighting stores. ( I did check to make sure they are available, and they said the adapter runs about $4.00). I have tried a large size bulb in this lamp and it works. Your other option is to rewire lamp with a normal size socket, and not deal with the light bulb issue at all. Buyer to pay shipping $15 to $20 depending upon location from Ohio, California being the high end. I accept paypal, money orders or personal checks.
