It has a SPRING RELEASE mechanism and a BUTTERSCOTCH MARBLED BAKELITE handle.The bakelite is in EXCELLENT condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or burn marks. It is 8" LONG and the BAKELITE handle is 3 1/4" LONG. It appears to be STAINLESS STEEL with no rust/pitting. See my other auctions for more bakelite kitchen utensil(s) and flatware.
