RARE Vintage (c1930) Large Cobalt Dip Wedgwood Jasperware Scalloped Tray Another Art Deco period piece of Cobalt Wedgwood Jasperware for you now, this time a rare scalloped tray, possibly from a dressing table set. Measuring approximately 16cm in length, 13cm in width and to a depth of around 3cm (30mm) this delightful piece features white bas-relief images and other decoration to a bright cobalt blue body. The images are in the form of four separate scenes of offering and sacrifice to each side of the tray, each corner features a single flowerhead with high relief centre. You can see from the images that the form itself is scalloped to the edge and has further areas of relief within the form itself. The square centre is plain and this leads me to believe it would have held a large trinket box or several smaller items. The tray is marked to its base, as per the addition image. Certainly no later than 1940, my personal opinion is that this dates rather closer to 1930. With the exception o f a couple of very small and faint relief fissures, this tray is in exceptionally good condition and free from damage. I value all my collectors and bidders here on Ebay and so, when I see a special piece that I rate highly, I tell you so. This is one of those pieces. It may be vintage, opposed to antique, but I have handled thousands of Jasperware
