Vintage~ c1930~ "Tri-Ang Lines Brothers Ltd. Gyro Cycle" with Box & Instructions PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ON THE UK SITE AND LISTED IN GB POUNDS Vintage "Tri Ang Lines Brothers Ltd." "Gyro Cycle" This fabulous "Tri-Ang Gyro Cycle" is in very good "as found" condition and has not been restored and repaired by us. Made by Tri-ang (Lines Brothers) in England in the 1930's, this superb and very clever toy is made of celluloid, pressed steel, and printed tinplate. It measures nearly 20 cm (8 inches) long and comprises a celluloid cyclist astride a pressed steel bicycle with printed tin wheels. These elements are all in very good condition with only minimal play wear mainly to the wheels. This toy works on the same principle as a gyroscope, in that, when a cord, (the original cord is present), is wound round the mechanism on the side of the front wheel and pulled sharply, the cyclist will pedal forward until it runs out of momentum and topples over, this example is fully functioning. The box is also in good condition with only minor wear, the internal card is also present, however, the small oil bottle is missing. The label is colourful and complete and, together with the Tri-ang trademark, has the claim "The Tri-ang Gyro-Cycle Invention of a famous aeroplane designer"'.
