Up for auction is a vintage shop scale that was made by Vandome & Hart Ltd. of London. Vandome & Hart Ltd. London is the oldest weighing co in the UK, founded in 1660. Theey are still operational today, attesting to their fine quality of scales and other items. This scales dates to around the 1940's and are made of cast aluminum. There is a weight platform with all weights included. the weights are a 1 lb., an 8 oz., a 4 oz., a 2 oz. and includes 6 pennies for pennyweights. The hopper is chrome plated. The central scale is housed behind a glass panel and shows a light / heavy indicator. The scales measures approx. 17 1/2 inches high x 151/2 inches wide x 5 1/2 inches deep not including the hopper. There is a nice enamel badge/label as well was use instructions and cleaning info on the rear. The scale is scale # L9242. The general condition is excellent vintage condition. This would shine, or clean up beautifully if desired. Sure to be a conversation piece at any business or home. The scale sits well and is a hard to find 4 pound vintage scale.
