Pristine example of a rare vintage IWC Schaffhausen c1964 Stainless steel Gents Date Watch in excellent condition. Legendary in-house Automatic IWC Calibre 8541 movement. Prior to selling I have just had the watch serviced, it is therefore in full working order. This watch is in excellent condition - see the photos. It is fitted with a smart black Hirsch croc leather strap & original IWC steel buckle. It has a stainless steel case measuring 35mm diameter, excl original signed crown. Beautifully aged silvery/cream dial & raised silver baton hour markers, 3 silver hands, date window at 3. The dial is signed "International Watch Co Schaffhausen" "Automatic" "T Swiss T". The inner case back is signed "Probus IWC Scafusia" & "International Watch Co Swiss" Serial Number "1794476" which dates the watch to c1964 & "R 810a". The movement is signed "C.8541" & movement number "1759016". A classic Swiss watch with "one of the best automatic movements ever produced in Switzerland". The famous watchmaker Donald De Carle, in his book Complicated Watches and their Repair claimed that IWC's special automatic winding mechanism was "a simple and ingenious system, well constructed and beautifully finished".
