Up for auction is a beautifully carved shell cameo set in 14k gold. The simplicity of the setting focuses all attention on this Victorian Beauty. This piece can be worn as either a pin or a pendant (note the levered bail). This detail is not commonly found on newer cameo jewelry. The measurements are 1 5/16" wide and 1 3/4" tall. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks in the stone. The carving is very beautiful and intricate with soft feminine features . The soft brown highlights visible in her hair and roses show the artistic character of layered carving in shell cameos. A very special heirloom quality gift for yourself or a loved one.
