's a hard to find piece. It's a Canada Dry stand up (easel back) die cut cardboard store display that advertises the Canada Dry "Hostess Package". Judging from the display, the Hostess Package was a large cardboard box containing 12 bottles of Canada Dry Pale Ginger Ale. We are in the process of thinning out our collection of vintage country store collectibles and our loss is your gain. This item is being offered without a reserve and I can tell you that the starting price is much less than what we paid for it roughly 10 years ago.
Description: Canada Dry stand up (easel back) die cut cardboard store display. As discussed below, I believe this pice dates from the late 1920's or early 1930's. Along the bottom edge t are several things printed. From left to right, they are 5-29 (which I believe is the date), LITHO. IN USA and NIAGARA LITHO. CO. BUFFALO & NEW YORK . T is no information printed on the back of the piece.
Condition: It is in overall very good condition for its age and it was obviouslyused. It shows some minor wear along the bottom, especially on the far left-hand bottom. That corner has been rounded over time and part of what I'm told is a date is partially missing. It looks like the original date was 5 - 29. A date of the late 1920's or early 30's would be consistent with how the woman is dressed. The display is made of rather think cardboard - roughly 1/16 in. thick.
Dimensions: At its highest point, the display measures 14 inches. At the base, it is 8.5 inches wide.
