For sale is a vintage evaporated milk labeled Norris. This was distributed by Schuylkill Valley Grocery Co, from Brideport, PA. This label is in good condition from 1950. These evaporated milk labels, are all coming out of my private collection. I have a very large collection of evaporated milk labels that have never been for sale before, and this is their first time being on eBay. The majority of these labels came from my family's canned milk business. We were in business for over 80 years producing canned milk, and were the last family owned can milk business in the US when we closed our milk operation almost 10 years ago. Many of the canned milk labels that have been on eBay in the past, are coming out of very large finds where someone found thousands of the same label. Most my labels are coming from the company's old retained samples of different canned milk labels that we did over time. I will be listing labels from the 1920s up through the early 1980s, and everything in between. Of the labels that I'm listing, I have anywhere from 1 to 15 labels available. I do not have large stacks of labels on anyone brand, so if you are interested in a label please grab quickly, because once they're gone they're gone. Without going into all of the history of canned milk, back in the 1950s in earlier there were over 75 different milk caning operations in the United States (now they're only a couple milk canning facilities left.) Canned milk was popular and was used before infant formula was around, and back when everybody would do more scratch cooking at home, canned milk was a very popular item. Especially when refrigeration wasn't widely available as it is today. Back then, every little grocery, and every little food distributor would've had their own canned milk label made for them. Private labeling was very popular. over time, the small brands have disappeared and the national brands now dominate. these labels represent a time in this country when things were much more regionalized and local, and there was significantly more family-owned manufacturing. I understand that most canned milk labels are not the hottest commodity on eBay, but for anybody who's into old paper, old labels, ephemera, old general store items, or just old advertising on packages… This is a rare example to pick up some truly one-of-a-kind pieces. While some of the canned milk labels from the 60s, 70s, or even early 80s aren't high dollar labels… They are fairly rare and you may not get another opportunity to acquire one of these again. The way I'm going to list these labels, is to put each one up for auction starting at $12.95 each with free shipping. It is my goal to put up at least 10 labels a day until I have at least 300 different labels up. For labels that have more than one quantity listed, the picture represents what you will receive.
