For sale is a fantastic old car bonnet or hood ornament. The detail on the figure is amazing as can be seen in the photos, even down to his curly hair and beard. I am selling this on behalf of my dad. My dad is now 87 and tells me someone gave this to him when he was about 18. This makes this ornament at least 69 years old. I think it is my dad who screwed it into the wooden block, which is quite a good way to display it. I think the figure is supposed to be Triton, the messenger of the sea and son of Poseidon, and is usually depicted as a merman. It is It is in good condition for it's age and is 23cms (9") high.
