This vintage carved jadeite necklace measures about 15" in length and features 9 wonderfully carved stone pieces and 14 leaf shaped gold links. The oval jade in the center measures about 46mm by 23mm(1 7/8" L), the smaller ovals about 20mm x 12mm(3/4" L), and the round sections about 11mm(5/8"). Great color and lustre on the jade-the close-ups give a better idea of the true color then my photo of the entire necklace does. The piece is stamped "14k", with a concealed catch which fastens under the center stone. The center stone is held by 6 prongs, the other stones are held by four prongs each. The last owner said his family acquired it from a Philadelphia jeweler in the 1920's.
