Vintage Carved Oak Wall Shelf Coat Hat Plate Rack Brass This listing is for a wonderful carved oak hanging wall shelf that I purchased in a recent English container sale. The shelf is oak and oak veneer, with a beautiful golden oak finish and outstanding tiger oak grain!! It has fancy scalloped corbels, ornate carved wood trim in the center panel, scalloped edges along the shelf edges, and SEVEN brass character hooks along the bottom!!! The top shelf has two grooves for displaying plates and the shelf is attached to the wall by the two hooks that extend above the back of the shelf. The measurements are 39 ¼" x 12 ¼" x 8 ¼"; (the hanging hooks extend 1 ¼" beyond the 12 ¼" length). For those interested in comparing styles, I do have several other European wall racks that I am listing this week! A very versatile piece, useable in almost every room of the house (I have one in the utility room, one in the game room). Originally used as a "kitchen shelf", it would also be great for collections of any kind or seasonal/holiday displays. The shelf is in very good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, dings and scratches (The shelf top has some scratches as noted in the photos).
