Offered for bid is this vintage cabinet and accessories which are used in the Catholic Annointing of the sick or last rites. The cabinet is made of wood and is sturdy. It has a reverse painted glass over a shadowbox inset which frames a 3-dimensional sculpture of Mary and Jesus. The bottom portion which opens has a print of the Last Supper also under glass. The hinged bottom portion has a chain connected which allows the door to stay in a horizontal position revealing two metal candle holders. The cabinet measures approx. 23" in height x 13" across x 3" deep. Inside the box and included in this auction is a bottle which is marked in bas relief "Holy Water" and has a cross in the center. The lid to the bottle is a silver metal and turns to open and close. The bottle measures 4-1/4" in height x 1-1/4" across. Also included is a metal spoon with a cross on the handle, a bag of cotton balls, a card with a prayer, and an intricately detailed crucifix. The crucifix measures 4" x 7", and affixed to the back of the crucifix is a paper that reads; "To this crucifix is attached the plenary indulgence in the hour of death".
