ORIGINAL CARTE-DE-VISITE PHOTOGRAPHS OF BRITAIN'S LONGEST REIGNING MONARCH, QUEEN VICTORIA, AND THE PRINCE CONSORT, PRINCE ALBERT . Each 3-3/8 inch high by 2-1/8 inch wide photograph is mounted on approximately 4 inch high by 2-1/2 inch wide card stock. The CDV of Queen Victoria is identified in blue along the bottom border as " Her Majesty the Queen". The photographer "Southwell" is identified at the bottom right and within an oval topped by the British crest on the verso as the "photographer to the Queen". The CDV is further identified at having been published by "Thos McLean & Co" of London. The CDV of Prince Albert is identified along the bottom border as " The Late Prince Consort". Printed within an oval frame on the verso is "W.H. Mason, Repository of Arts 108 Kings Road, Brighton". Both photographs are in very nice condition with some soiling and minor staining the to edge mount of the CDV of Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria (1819-1901) was Britain's longest reigning monarch. She was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 until her death in 1901. She had first met her first cousing Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha when only 17, but was not yet ready to marry.
