Original Vintage Theatre Lobby Poster: Charlie Chaplin in "The Kid" . This Brilliantly Colored Vintage Poster is made of celluloid-type paper and was designed for display in a theatre light box. It measures 21" W x 27" H and is framed in antique barnwood; frame is backless so that the poster can be backlighted. "The Kid" was released in 1921 and was Chaplin's first major starring role; he also wrote and directed this film. "The Kid" launched Jackie Coogan's career as a major child star. A beautiful addition to a movie poster enthusiast's collection, or for a Chaplin fan. Just above the "lin" (of Chaplin) t is a circular logo (single line circle) which says inside "Butts Litho Co. xxx(???), N.Y.", and underneath the circle are the numbers 1309 (I believe that it is a zero?). On the bottom right of the poster the following writing appears "This poster is leased and not sold. All persons are warned against displaying it without the authority and consent of the First National Exhibitors Circuit, Inc.". And, on the bottom-center, after the word "National" t is a circular logo (a circular chain) inside which t is a likeness of the United States and the writing "First National Pictures" written over the likeness of the United States.
