This is a gorgeous vintage bakelite beaded necklace, VERY long, in great condition, in a hard to find deep cherry amber red. The strand measures 31" long, with graduating semi translucent beads. The largest bead is 1 1/8" long, graduating down in size to 1/2" long. The screw clasp is hidden in 2 smaller beads, measuring 10mm ea., and is in perfect working order. The string has weakened with age, and t is one area with a visible knot w you can see the string is frayed and kind of dusty,so it will need to be restrung before wearing just to be on the safe side. These beads have substantial weight to them. No damage to any of the beads that I can find, and minimal to no surface wear. The beads are a beautiful rich translucent dark burgundy/cherry with a great depth of color. This piece passes all bakelite tests, and is fully guaranteed to be vintage bakelite.
