I have seen this little stein set all my life. Growing up in the 40s and 50s in Wichita Falls, it was always on display. It was something I just accepted, but never asked about until it was too late to ask. I am almost positive it came from my paternal grandmother. She was born in 1864 at Slate Hill, New York. I have researched and researched and could not find anything on this set until today I located one miniature stein for sale on Ruby Lane. The person selling the one little stein said it was part of a child's set. I had already decided that this set must be a child's set, but was glad to get that confirmed, but I still do not know who made it. I think t is some marking in the bottom of the steins, but I have driven myself ga-ga trying to figure it out. The markings all look different when turned to a different angle. Sometimes I think it is an initial and next I think it is some design or insignia. It is probably just a blurb like the ink spots in the Rorschach Test. I brought the set to my home when I cleared my parents' house out in 1980 and it has just been vegetating in a cabinet since. I washed it to take these pictures. This listing is for one clear glass 4-inch tall stein and five little 2-inch tall clear glass steins. The large stein has a front view of a monk or friar holding frothy brew on two sides.
