Vintage Chinese Cloisonne Miniature Plate This beautiful miniature plate, measuring 4 1/2 inches in diameter, was purchased during a trip to Japan in the 1970's. It has been kept in a curio cabinet in a smoke free environment since that time. From my research, it appears the fine wiring on the top is in a "millifiori" design and the enamel is subtle shading of maroons, golds, black and dark greens. The fine coloring can best be appreciated in good light. The bottom of the plate is a solid tourquise blue with some gold wiring of flowere around the rim. T are no identifying markings on the plate, but overall, it is in great condition other than some slight discoloration on the metal rim. It looks like the base metal under the enamel is brass while the ring that the plate sits on is copper or some other metal.
