This is a really lovely shadow box! It has a cork carving inside. The photo looks a bit of red but it is more of a tan cork color. The frame is black heavily varnished. This is an extremely delicate carving with much detail in the trees and the pagoda. There are 2 white cranes (?) in the carving as well. This is a wonderful piece of art and exquisitely done. The shadow box stands 4 1/2" tall and is 4 1/2" wide at teh base.
