Silk Iron

The original use of this item was as a silk iron and/or
bed warmer. Coals would be put in the cup to heat it up
then it would be passed over the bed to take off the chill
on a cold winter's night or on silk to iron out the wrinkles.

This one has been in my family for at least 50 years.
The enamel handle is decorated with a rooster and
flowers. The brass cup has a raised dragon on it.
The brass is dull because I have not polished it.

It is in excellent condition with no cracks or scratches.

Overall Length is 8-1/2"
Top Diameter of Cup is about 3-1/2"
