Up for auction is the beautiful Vintage Claes Boxers TV Lamp. It is marked on the bottom WH (for Willaim Hirsch), 56 for the year 1956, Claes ( for Leland Claes, the designer). In my opinion it is excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. The bulb works and I will include it, but will not guarantee that it will work after shipping. The boxers are approximately 13" tall and 9" wide. This is an estate find, so I just recently acquired it, but it is a beautiful piece, so bright and shiny, I'm sure you will love it. It is the same color as the Siamese cats with black faces, just holes for the eyes, but you don't see the Boxers as often. Designed by Leland Claes, a virtual unknown in most pottery collecting circles, his designs are appreciated almost exclusively by TV lamp enthusiasts. Claes was born in Turlock, California on August 31st, 1916, and would be the eldest of seven children. Leland Claes passed away March 11, 2000, leaving behind a marvelous body of work and many unanswered questions. Claes lamps are distinctive, many are quite rare, and the often fetch big $$$.
