VINTAGE CLASSIC WINNIE THE POOH BISQUE PORCELAIN TABLEAU MUSIC BOX WITH WOOD BASE "THREE CHEERS FOR POOH" WILLITTS, 1988-1989 CONDITION: MINT, BETTER THAN EXCELLENT This extremely rare and absolutely gorgeous Classic Winnie the Pooh Music Box was manufactured by Willitts in 1998-1989. It is in perfect, mint condition: no chips, no cracks, no missing paint. The bisque (matte finish) porcelain is flawless, and the detail on the figures is amazing -- the pictures do not do it justice. The tableau of Winnie, Christopher Robin, Owl, Kanga and Roo, and Piglet sits atop a wooden base with a brass plate inscribed with "Three cheers for Pooh". (T is some scratching on the brass plate, which is to be expected.) The music box sits within the wood base and is wound from the bottom. The tune is "Memories." The music box function is smooth and flawless. The bottom is marked with c The Walt Disney Company. The oval base is approx. 7" x 5" and it stands approx. 5 1/2" high: it is quite heavy and substantial for its size. This piece was valued in Carol J. Smith's Identification & Price Guide to Winnie the Pooh Collectibles (Hobby House Press, 1994, 1996) at $70 -- $100 for mint condition. And that was in 1996 dollars! NOTE: I am usually happy to combine shipping, but this item will be packed and shipped on its own to protect it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ATTENTION ALL YOU POOH COLLECTORS AND FANS : I have literally hundreds of pieces of Winnie the Pooh collectibles, including Cookie Jars, Banks, Teapots, Canisters, Figurines, Snowglobes, Music Boxes, Spice Jars, Thimbles, Plates, Bookends, Lamps âe" even some plushes. I tend to have more ceramics and fewer plushes and plastics. They range in age from the 1960âe(tm)s to the early 2000âe(tm)s. I have Enesco, Midwest , Michelâe(tm)s, Disney, Charpente, Sears, Lenox, Willits and many more. They range in value from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars. I can tell you that as long as I have had it, it has been in some kind of container (either plastic or a display case), and in a room not accessible to my two adorable dogs.
