Vintage Cleveland SWINGOS Celebrity Hotel Key Rock n' Roll
Actual Key from Swingos Celebrity Inn from the late 70's
In Almost Famous, Cameron Crowe paid homage to Swingos Celebrity Inn, an establishment heralded in the movie as "The Greatest Hotel in America!"
In the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's, this 5 story, 150 room hotel and its famed restaurant, The Swingos Keg & Quarter, catered to the biggest names in music, film, sports, and politics.
On any given night you might run into Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., Ted Williams, or Wilt Chamberlain in the lobby.
Or you might catch a glimpse of The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, or Led Zeppelin arriving after a show.
Or if you were truly lucky, you could have seen the likes of Elvis Presley or Ray Charles performing impromptu in the lounge.
The Celebrity Inn and the Keg & Quarter, which were owned and operated by Jim Swingos from 1967 through 1983, were both world-wide destinations for these and many other international stars.
