You are bidding on aVintage Collins Legitimus 5 3/4 lb Single Bit Axe Tool Early Axe, Crown Logo, Baltimore Jersey Pattern The axe was recently obtained from an estate sale, and appears to have been well cared for. The exact age is unknown. I believe this is an early axe made by the Collins & Co., of Hartford CT., not sure of era. The axe is stamped on the side of the upper head âe" t is some flattening and it is hard to make out. The head is stamped with what appears to be as, Collins & Co Hartford, a crown logo, Cast Steel Warranted US. I believe the head is a Baltimore Jersey style pattern. The axe head is 7 5/8" wide, with a 5 1/4" wide blade, and weighs approx. 5 lbs., 14 ozs. The axe is in good condition. I donâe(tm)t believe the blade was sharpened much âe" I touched it up a little. As with the vintage of the axe, t is some normal wear, some light dents and dings, discoloration spots, and some flattening on hammer head, all as noted from the photos. The axe would be a great enhancement to any collection or use it as an actual axe tool . The axe is SOLD AS IS with NO RESERVE. email questions before bidding . Check out my other items !
