Up for auction is a vintage Columbia 5-Star Superb boys 26" bicycle. I believe this bicycle is a 1954 model. This is an original Columbia bicycle, not a reproduction. The bicycle is complete, but is in need of restoration. This bike has the front drum brake, springer front fork, original front headlight and horn tank. The wheels will need to be trued. Tires are new BF Goodrich Silvertowns, but have some minor cracking due to age. The tank is pretty straight and will need to be repainted because of a poor paint job, but the horn works well. The rear rack is a reproduction in bare metal, and the rear taillight needs to be reassembled, as it is in pieces. The headlight is the original type, but needs work to be operable. The seat and pedals are included but are the incorrect type for this bicycle. Fenders are straight with only minor scratches and a small crease on the rear near the chainguard. I have a few spare parts as seen in the photos that will be included with the bike. This bike would be a great winter project, or just ridden around as is. It rides like grandpa's old Oldsmobile! Buyer responsible for actual shipping charges. This is a heavy bike, and may take two boxes to ship. Shipping cost will be determined at end of auction, and I will use the least expensive method available. In all probability it will be FedEx ground. read more
