Vintage Comoy's "Celebration" limited edition in bent bulldog shape. Was made to commemorate Comoy's 150th Anniversary and the United States bicentennial. Comes with hand-signed document in ink from Pierre Comoy (at least I think that's the first name. Hard to decipher his signature) attesting to the above and showing that this pipe is #721, which is also stamped on the pipe's shank. The document brings the Comoy's history from its origins in St. Claude, France to five generations later in London. In the document, the pipe is described as: "The unique reddish finish, hand cut champagne colored lucite mouthpiece and 18k gold spun band all contribute to make this pipe a collector's item worthy of its five generation heritage." Judging by the price of gold these days, the band alone is probably worth the price of the pipe. The pipe would be flawless were it not for my having smoked it once or twice to test it. It is certainly excellent in every way, and with the exception of a tiny mark on the bit, free of any dings, gouges, scrapes, dents, burns or other abuse. There is no discoloration from heat on the bowl top.
