These compacts were popular during the 1940's. Measures: 2 3/8" in diameter Mirror: Frosted edge, Clear and Intact, two pinhead dots Hinge and Fob Clasp in fine order Interior: Open Powder Well with Original, Unused Sifter and Signed, Zell Fifth Avenue, Puff Base: Bright Goldtone, Concentric Circle Design, Marked USA, Excellent Condition Lid: Bright Satin Goldtone...one tarnish dot (see photo) light wear, Polished Floral Goldtone, one scuff mark Similar Zell compacts are shown in The Collectors Encyclopedia of Compacts, Vol II, Laura M. Mueller, Pg #240 and Ladies Compacts, Second Edition, Roselyn Gerson, Pg #351. Listed Values range from $40-$75 Wonderful, Unique Collection Addition!
