Includes Original Packaging / C.S. Hammond Map / 1960s
Hello, you are bidding on a Vintage Complete NABISCO World / United Nations Map and Flag Set .

This complete set by the National Biscuit Company was produced sometime in the early 1960's, judging by the absence of flags for many African nations that joined in that decade and the inclusion on Hawaii on the map. This is a world map that has flag pins for all of the UN nations at the time of production - 82 nations in total. T are currently 192 nations in the UN. The map and flag pins were acquired by sending away some money and Nabisco Shredded Wheat Box Tops. T were five sets (A,B,C) needed to complete the map and flag pins collection.

Set A included 18 National flags, 1 UN flag, and the C.S. Hammond and Co. map. Set B included 16 National flags. Set C included 16 National flags. Set D included 16 National flags. Set E included 16 National flags.

Set F, which included all 5 sets above, could also be purchased for $1.50 and 3(!) Shredded Wheat Box Tops.

The map, flag pins, and original packages that the pins came in are all in very good condition, especially considering their age. Every single flag pin is included!

The front of the map is in excellent condition, with bright, vivid colors. The map is folded over twice - I assume it originally came like that. The edges and corners of the map are still fairly sharp for the most part but t is noticeable curling and bending on the edges and some creases near the fold lines. T don't appear to be any tears but t is some blunting on the edges. On the back of the map, the half that was exposed to the air the most has noticeable foxing and is tan in color. The other half, which was not exposed to air, is noticeably whiter. It does not appear that the flag pins were ever inserted into the map.

The flag pins are all in fairly similar shape with noticeable scratches and some minor paint loss. They show age-appropriate wear but are still attractive to look at. The reverse side of the pins are still quite clean, with a few exceptions.

The original packages still include the original tape used to seal them. The packages have holes and/or staples in them. The inside of the packages are similiar in condition: All the lettering is completely legible but t is noticeable browning evident from the interaction of the card stock and flag pins. After all, this set is 50 years old, give or take!

Please see pictures for more detail.

The map is approximately 2 feet wide and 21 3/4" tall. The flag pins are about 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall.

All told, this is quite an unique item and you will not see it very often in this condition!
