VINTAGE CONN VICTOR 80A CORNET WITH ORIGINAL CASE Please scroll down to see lots of photos This cornet was bought in 1962 from from Phil Parker Ltd, Shaftsbury Avenue, the well known London brass shop. In 1973 it was completely overhauled by them with rebuilt valves, new lacquer and small areas of the tubing reinforced with patches. It has a dent in the piping attached to the middle valve and another in the tubing near the face when held, plus other small dents and a small scratch on the bell - please see close up photographs. The lacquer is worn in places. According to information found on the internet its serial number 191135 appears to indicate that its year of manufacture was 1922 or 1923.It has the typical Victor Cornet appearance (rather like a short trumpet) with 'opera glass' tuning. Its valve springs are at the top of the valve rather than the bottom as in later models. It comes with a case that is believed to be original and dating from the 1920s and it has a metal label with 'C G CONN' on the front. The clasp on the case has a piece missing but can be opened with the end of a key or other pointed object. Please ask if there are any particular areas you would like me to photographAll postage costs and insurance is to be paid by the winning bidder.
