SUPERB COLOUR DEFINITION TRIPLE CAP BANDS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL CONWAY STEWART 14K SOLID GOLD DURO FINE to MEDIUM NIB Very nice to write with.Very smooth ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This Conway Stewart 55 was first produced in 1939 ,and rapidly became one of the most popular Conway 's,continuing production into the LATE 40's First established in London in 1905, Conway Stewart fountain pens have long held the reputation of having being one of the giants in the U.K. vintage pen arena. Having produced some of the most beautiful coloured pens,Conway Stewarts are still being used with the same reliability and writing ability as when first made,and are now highly collectable. ---------------------------------------------------------------- THE PEN. The pen is in SUPERB condition,with no significat scratches other than age surface, visible under magnification., and no cracks or dents . NO BRASSING ON THE CAP BANDS -Very minor pitting on the filling lever and clip.Visible only under magnification, and certainly does not detract from this lovely executive pen. THE BARREL. MARKED: (Medium strength) THE CONWAY STEWART No 55 And marked horizontally around the barrel MADE IN ENGLAND With a gold filled C/S marked filling lever THE CAP. With a gold filled clip,with the C.S.-Conway Stewart emblem,topped with a black retaining inner stud. Adorned with 3 gold filled rings around the base. The middle band wider than the two outer bands THE NIB The open ,ORIGINAL, DURO 14 ct solid gold nib is in SUPERB condition,with plenty of iridium , and writes with a very nice smooth FINE to MEDIUM line. NIB MARKED: DURO CONWAY STEWART 14 CT GOLD The fins and section are in perfect condition and have been flushed and cleaned THE FILLING SYSTEM .
