According to eBay Law, this badge meets the eBay guidelines for historical badges. It does not resemble a modern or current law enforcement badge, insignia or uniform. It is a historical piece that is 75 years old or older or the item is defunct/obsolete or from a now-defunct organization. This badge is defunct and obsolete. This item conveys no authority or law enforcement powers. It is your responsibility as the buyer to ascertain and obey any and all local, state, and federal laws with regard to possession and/or use of any item auctioned. This Cook County Illinois Constable badge is in very nice condition. It appears to be quite old from the patina and style. The badge is hallmarked by the Meyer & Wenthe Co. (I believe located in Chicago). It measures about 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" from point to point. This badge is from an estate collection, so I am not an expert. I will guarantee it to be authentic and it can be returned for a full refund, providing it is returned in the same condition received. .
