This is an old favorite of mine, small enough to be very versatile. My mother was a librarian and I have her large 60 and 72 drawer units from her library but this guy is a real treasure. The larger units are from the 60s , this guy with it's dovetailed joints goes back to the 1890s. Each drawer has the 1892 and 1894 patent date on them. The Library Bureau Sole Makers Company was in business from the early 1880s to about 1925.I guess the library in the 1890s had to be the only gateway to the world and the hands that were in these drawers.Very nice old patina and there are a few issues but not major and easily addressed and fixable with low expense. There is a piece along the right rear back panel which is not really visible from the front.A couple drawers have some cracks and one has a piece of the rear panel gone but every issue is repairable and I have not altered or repaired anything so you are dealing with the original item.No screws or glue added but it could use some skill to keep it original .There was tape used on the exterior over the years and those are the shadows you see in the photographs. The shadow of the ring on the top was put there by the original librarian so I had a place to put my coffee cup.It is a really cool piece and soundly built.Another 100 years is no problem with this guy. Any ones old Honus Wagner baseball
