Vintage/Antique Scrolled Copper Batik Stamp ("Tjap") from Indonesia. These old Tjap are made by HAND from soldered copper and then used to print fabric by dipping the stamp into wax and then stamping onto the fabric. Makes the most BEAUTIFUL finished pieces and even after all these years, these pieces are completely functional. We bought a HUGE collection of GORGEOUS old Tjap and will have them all listed this week. Each piece is intricately wrought and each has an attached handle. You will see them discolored due to age or they may have paint loss (on the handles) where they have been used over and over. These were actual WORKING items and were used! They are absolutely incredible .... and whether you love to print your own BATIK or whether you love to put these on display... they are very special old items! This piece is a LARGE SIZED STAMP that features very large leaves and stems -- LOTS of detail on this old piece... you will see tiny little veins in the leaves and shading on the stems. This piece has obviously been used and you will see old residue overall. Measures 7 inches across by 6-1/2 inches tall. We are HAPPY to combine shipping so please feel free to bid!
