Vintage 80's 'Cappuccino Amore' Espresso Machine as found, with Copper and Brass Clad, all original parts. Fabulous vintage Cappucino Amore Espresso Machine, from San Francisco, made from 1983-1986. Company no longer in business, but according to blogs, machine may be serviced through Mr. Espresso in Oakland, CA. Found the web site quite informative, and several helpful souls offered their original manuals for scanning to another Ebayer who had purchased a similar machine, but was befuddled on how to operate! This machine is quite a looker! Very heavy and solid, with suction cups on base to secure to surface. It comes with a power cord, single and double press filters, and a very nicely weighted press, as well as compactor. Lever arm is tough to work, and according to those-in-the-know on the web-site, these pistons could become tight when steam built up behind them, or could use a little WD-40 placed on and allowed to drip around piston to get working (should run well for a bout a year). These were often unfortunately discarded at the owner's frustration. I believe these machines cost well over $100 back in their day! This is sure to be a treasure for any afficinado's collection. Please note that this item has quite a steam pressure build up as does any espresso or cappuccino machine and as we are selling a vintage collectible item we hope that the buyer is aware of how a cappuccino machine functions. I believe that the only way to check the water level is by unscrewing the top cover for a visual check, please be careful when doing so! This item is being sold as is, I have not polished (please let me know if you would like it polished before shipping), and will need a thorough cleaning.
