Vintage Copper Bed Warmer Antique Foot Warmer This is a vintage and very rare antique copper bed warmer or primitive hot wat bottle image a super cold night back in the days when you had to blow out the candles for light and boil water over the fire 19e No marked Civil War Medical Officer / Solider Copper Bed Warmer could be civil war vintage used by officers You would fill this up with hot water and put it in your bed under the covers to warm it up before you crawled in! No forced air heat back then! Bedwarmers or hot water bottles were used prior to the 19th century, when homes were fire heated by hearth or wood stove. This one is solid copper, oval. It has soldered, folded seam construction and the original brass ringed screw cap. A few minor dings at the center on both sides, but actually in quite a bit better shape than most bed warmers of this style and age. A super collectors item and It would look great as a decorative item in any home.this is Germany made. 13.6"inch (35cm) X 9''inch (23cm)OVAL 5.5''inch (14cm) HIGH This brass bed warmer is in super condition with no damage or repairs,but has a bit of dening due to use ,the pictures giving a good representation of condition.
