It features Cora Sue Collins, and it measures about 5x7 inches. It is black and white in color and has a preprinted signature on the front. She is featured as Tania in 'Anna Karenina' with Greta Garbo in 1935. From IMDB: "Cora Sue Collins was born April 19, 1927 in Beckley, West Virginia. She was a beautiful child actress who was in very much demand during the 30s. Her first film, at the age of five, was The Strange Case of Clara Deane (1932). She appeared in small roles throughout the early part of the decade. One of her roles that stand out was as the illegitimate daughter of Colleen Moore in The Scarlet Letter (1934). She performed well, particularly considering she is picked on by the many children in the village w she lived. Cora remained active in films until she played Elinor Randall in Roughly Speaking (1945). She retired from movies at the ripe-old age of eighteen." This photo is in excellent condition, and looks great on display! This piece comes from the estate of Carmen Dirigo. Carmen was a Hollywood hair stylist who worked on many of the top stars during the Golden Age of Hollywood, including Gary Cooper, Fredric March, Orson Welles, Gracie Allen, Frances Dee, Ronald Colman, W.C. Fields, Mae West, Gary Grant, Merle Oberon(Wuthering Heights), Joan Fontaine, Paulette Goddard, and Joan Bennett (Carmen's maid of honor in 1940)etc. She began as a dancer and showgirl in the Hollywood Box Revue in the 1920s. Carmen performed in numerous theatrical productions including "No, No Nanette" for Carter DeHaven and Oliver Morosco, theatrical producer, in "The Morning After". She also performed at the Pantages and Egyptian Theatres in Hollywood. Carmen became a hair dresser in the 1930s doing men's wigs and went from t doing hundreds of films, two including two Oscar winning movies, Stagecoach and Wuthering Heights. She ended up her career in television in the early 1960's. She was a resident of Van Nuys /North Hollywood and was an avid equestrian rider on 'Silver Shadow'. She helped found the Corral 17 Chapter of Equestrian Trails which did much fine work for horse trails. She worked with Ronald Reagan, Dick Powell, Yvonne DeCarlo as participants. Her mother, Lily, worked at the Carl Laemmle Studios (Universal) in the early 20's. After convincing Carl Laemmle Sr. of the need for touch up and hair 'adjusting' and styling, Lily became the first 'on studio lot', full-time hairdresser in the motion picture business. She worked on Greta Garbo, Loretta Young, Priscilla Dean, Una Merkel and many others in the silents and on into the talkies until 1957 with 'Around the World in 80 Days'. Carmen started painting the 1980s and passed away at the age of 99 last year, 2007.
