ThisCorgi Toys model of the Toyota 2000 GT as featured in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice was made in Great Britain between 1967 and 1969. It is about 10 cm long. I don’t know the scale used. There are some bad points to note about this model. The missiles, the driver and the James Bond figure are all missing. There is playwear damage to the paintwork, the red flag has gone, the boot doesn’t close properly, there are two different types of tyre fitted and the spring suspension doesn’t work. However, there are some good points. The casting is sound, there are some marks on the windscreen but there are no cracks, the operation to open the boot usually works well (although it can be a bit temperamental), the jewelled lights are all present as is the steering wheel and the gear stick. The wheels all rotate freely and the model runs very easily down a gentle slope in a straight line suggesting that the axles are undamaged.
