cottageware If you collect vintage cottage ware, then you are sure to love this charming egg cup in the Rustic pattern by Maddock! The cup top depicts a thatched roof cottage, with detailed windows, exterior wood, and even a lady in the doorway, while the bottom part shows a cobblestone walk. Measurement is approx 4 3/8" tall, 2 3/4" across the top part, and 2 1/8" across the bottom. The egg cup is labeled Maddock England, with the registration number 742096 (corresponds to the year 1928). I think the large top portion is for coddled eggs, and it can be turned over (to the side with the mark) for soft boiled eggs. It is in excellent condition. I have several of these egg cups from the same estate ...winning bidder may choose to purchase additional sets. (not currently on auction, can be uploaded with BIN for winning bidder) Also, please see my other auctions for matching cups and saucers. ***Please note: cottage ware egg cups much scarcer than other pieces such as creamers, sugars, teapots. Take advantage of this opportunity to add these scarce items to your collection!
