Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE !! Up for auction is a Cranberry Italian Murano glass vase with applied white glass swirl. I love this style ~ it also reminds of the Czech Tango Glass with the applied swirls/snakes. This vase still has it's Murano stamp on the bottom. I have researched this style and it is most likely Mid-Century Modern (1940-1950's ?). I also like to use the 20th Century Glass website as they have such great pictures of antique & vintage glass. This vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. In fact I cannot find any flaws. The base has a smooth, sunken pontil. As you know, this type of glass is very heavy and that is the reason for the shipping cost. I want to be sure it makes it to you safely and if I have over-estimated postage then you'll get a refund of the difference if it's more than .50 (cents). The inside of the vase is smooth and the applied, white glass swirl is the outside. It starts out very thick but the "swirl" thins out as it approaches the rim and it covers only the underside of the rim. I have inspected the applied glass swirl closely and find no damage or breaks. This is a heavy, quality glass vase. It measures 8 3/4 inches tall and is about 5 inches across at the widest part. The top ruffled rim span out to about 4 1/2 inches. A very nice example of Murano glass in exceptional condition.
