Great antique "Crescent" no. 8 cast iron waffle iron with base. The two original 'wire wound' handles are missing; someone in my family's history replaced them with wood. So, it is not completely original as the two handles are not original. Condition of cast iron is excellent . In completely original form, it is listed in Kovel's 2002 price guide at a value of $110. This waffle iron was from my grandmother's house on LI, NY; it was discovered in roughly 1960 when we cleaned out the house after she passed away. It has since been tucked away in a box in our attic in California. Recently re-dicovered, we decided we had no use for it (either functional or display), and decided to sell it on eBay. If the winner of this auction is interested in restoring this antique to fully original condition, I have seen for sale on eBay a number of waffle irons with no base but having original handles .
