Vintage CRINOLINE LADY Work Box 1930's Threads Needles Thimbles TOFFEE TIN Great Victorian and Vintage DESCRIPTION - This is a gorgeous vintage toffee tin that once housed sweets manufactured by George Basset & Co box confectioners of Sheffield, England. The lid of the tin is decorated with a wonderful country garden scene which depicts a crinoline lady taking a stroll in a delightful cottage garden. The lady is wearing a pink ruffled dress with a lace shawl collar and a and matching bonnet; she is holding a spray of flowers that she has no doubt selected from the garden. The garden is filled with an array of beautiful flowers in various colours and shades. There is a paved pathway in the forground with a tall arch and garden wall in the background with additional flowers and tree in the distance. The word 'Workbox' features on the top left hand corner of the tin - once the sweets had been consumed the box had a second use. The interior of the box has seperates section for keeping sewing paraphernalia - this box contains vintage thimbles, packs of needles and press studs and various threads. The base of the box has a pretty vintage card inserted which shows a gorgeous field of daffodils. The tin has an ornate gold coloured pattern around the sides; it has a clip over fastening at the front. The box could be used for a wide variety
