ITEM: Vintage Crosley Hybrid Novelty Book Radio 1955 This radio looks like a small, leather bound book. Lifting the lid reveals a miniaturized radio which utilizes a hybrid sub-miniature tube and transistor circuit. The outside is covered in brown leather with real gilded embossing. The exterior shows only light to moderate wear. The faceplate/speaker grill is shiny brass-plated metal. It is in excellent condition with a couple of minor wear-spots near the tuning dial, which is to be expected. I carefully opened up this radio for the enclosed pictures and found the chassis to be every bit as clean-looking as the exterior. Unfortunately I do not have the appropriate equipment to bench test this unit and of course I don't have the correct A/B battery combo. However, considering its overall excellent condition this radio may play instantly when it's appropriately powered. If not, I would think it could be made to work with minimal effort as the insides look nearly new. Obviously, I can offer this item only on an AS IS basis considering it's age and unknown operational state. The cover/lid reads 1956 WASH. D.C. JOHN GRIFFIN ALL STAR GAME.
