This is a very old razor found when clearing an elderly gentleman's house. The case has seen better days, it has lost its lid and the bottom is worn away, and the coating has come off the cardboard - which all illustrates its age if nothing else. The razor has a black ?Bakerlite handle with an ornate Crown and Sword motif (the logo of the maker). The blade has engraved on one side 'ERN 1166' and on the other side is engraved 'THE CROWN AND SWORD RAZOR. EXTRA HOLLOW GROUND. The same motif of a sabre type sword and a pointed crown separates the words 'and' and 'sword'. On the narrow part of the razor the words 'Crown and Sword' Reg.are repeated, separated again by the motif. Also engraved are the words 'MADE IN GERMANY. The blade is still sharp, I can tell you that from personal experience - nearly lost a finger! The blade swivels easily in its handle.
