Tampa Florida's Frank Centofante is one of the great pioneering custom knifemakers and a legend in this field. For the past 25 odd years his fame has grown with his fine lockback folding knives but in the early days he made some superb fixed blades and this very rare Bowie knife from the 1970's perfectly shows this. The 1/4" stock blade, likely 440C measures 10-1/8" in length, 1-1/2" wide with a mirror finish. The obverse is stamped "CENTOFANTE TAMPA FLA" and the reverse is stamped "15". The forward sloping crossguard, handle spacers and heavy pommel are polished solid brass. Of hidden tang construction the handle material is either bone or smooth stag. OAL is 15-1/4". No sheath was provided. The knife has been carefully looked after never carried or sharpened and is in excellent condition. Winning bidder to pay $28.00 Air Xpresspost trackable shipping within N.
